Abstract
The Teaching Canvas - student participation in teaching is a reflection tool for promoting student participation in university teaching. Based on theoretical approaches to student participation in teaching, the tool supports teachers in identifying room for student participation. Reflection questions in different categories are aimed at planning and implementing courses in a participatory manner and promoting exchange between teachers and students. As an Open Educational Resource (OER), the tool can be flexibly adapted and further developed. In this article we examine the theoretical basis, context of origin and possible applications of the Teaching Canvas and make suggestions for the practical work with the tool in teaching.
