Abstract
This article focuses on the untapped potential of workload evaluations, which are usually carried out as part of quality management and can be used to structure self-study time. Based on findings on student workload, the KiWiSS (continuity in the workload through content related structuring of self-study time) project uses examples to derive design elements that can be used to structure students' self-study time more effectively and bring it into focus, starting from a course concept. The design elements themselves thus become the subject of evaluation, which can contribute to closing quality cycles through jointly reflected practice.
